Purpose of desulphurization

To create a low sulphur content in the basic iron for the subsequent treatment required for the production of ductile iron.

Product

Foundry Carbide with approx. 76% CaC2 for the desulphurization of cast iron melts. Grain size: 0.3 - 1 und 1 - 3 mm in 1 ton drums.

Safety advice

Calcium carbide: Produces acetylene gas, when in contact with water or moisture, which is combustible and highly explosive when in contact with air. Contact with skin may cause chemical burns.
