Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies for relevant raw materials in scope aligned to business goals and objectives which deliver cost and working capital leadership, innovation, service excellence / resilience and process & product improvement
  • Contribute to potential global sustainability agenda for ASK Procurement
  • Represent raw material category in global procurement leadership team
  • Lead / support global negotiations and manage key supplier relationships in close alignment with regional procurement teams
  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities and solutions measured by KPIs
  • Manages cross-functional interfaces with related departments
  • Continuous reporting and performance tracking
  • Feed regional business teams with relevant supply market intelligence, especially commodity forecasting
  • Provide input to overall procurement strategy
  • Provide input to develop and implement risk management strategies aligned with overall business strategies and policies
  • Accountable for compliance to corporate policies and relevant legislation

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business studies, engineering or related field required
  • 5-10 years procurement experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment, ideally chemical industry
  • Excellent know-how of chemical value chains across the globe for organic as well as inorganic raw materials
  • In-depth understanding of local vs. regional vs. global dynamics on supply markets and capability to translate these into an effective and responsive organizational set-up
  • On top of excellent analytical skills, you are required to demonstrate excellent soft skills in communication across all levels of the organization translating supply market know-how into relevant business language
  • ‘Hands-on’ mentality
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Working in a matrix organization requires focus on a holistic approach and increases the need for being able to cooperate across functions and act beyond boundaries
  • Fluent in German and English, any other language is an advantage
  • Affinity for numbers, KPIs and PC programs
